Stephanie stewards the general business management of the church and is the one to go to with questions about one's giving record/pledge. Her portfolio includes the areas of finance, human resources, purchasing and building management. Stephanie is married with four children and has been a member of MPLC since 2007. She is always cold, and would prefer to live on a beach somewhere warm.
Director of Parish Services
Becky's voice is the one you’ll most often hear when you call the church office. She keeps the place running by taking care of dozens of unseen tasks every week. Becky stewards the ministries of Volunteer Coordination, Reception, Secretarial, and Hospitality. She is married with two children and has been a member of MPLC since 2008.
Director of Communications
Julie is the woman behind the words (and photos) of most of our publications. She has a degree in journalism and has worked as a freelance writer and photographer for 17 years. She enjoys using these skills for her work on the church newsletter, Facebook, the website, special bulletin covers and other publications. Julie is happy to help you when she answers the phone, or she’ll point you in the right direction. She is married to Gary and they have three sons. Julie has been a MPLC member since 1996, and on our staff since 2011.
Director of Youth Education
Becca brings her enthusiasm, vision, creativity and organizational skills to her work with children, youth and families. In 2017, she graduated from the synod’s two year Lay Theological Education Program: diaconia. Becca is married with three children and has been a member of MPLC since 2012.
Director of Serving Ministries
Holly stewards the serving ministries of the congregation, including our Open Table meal program. She also contributes her many gifts through her work with adult faith development. Holly is deeply fulfilled when using her experiences and gifts through her work in the church and welcomes the chance to help you do the same. Holly is married, has four children, and has been an MPLC member since 2004.
Michael is the musician at the organ console, the piano keyboard, and behind various other instruments for our Sunday services. Educated at Lawrence University, he has been in music his entire life. Michael is a master at improvisation and also composes/arranges music for worship. He can do wonders with the John-Paul Buzard’s organ, dedicated in 2006. The organ was specially designed for Mount Pleasant and its warm tone greatly enhances our worship life.
Dr. Eduardo Garcia-Novelli
Senior Choir Director
In his ten years at MPLC, Eduardo has built a choir that numbers about 50 members and sings at our 8:30 Sunday service during the program year. As a Professor of Music and Director of the Carthage College Choir, Eduardo brings incredible gifts to this congregation. Everyone who is eager to make a "joyful noise" to the Lord is welcome to join. No matter what level your music education may be—from not reading music to being a music professional—this choir will enrich you. Simply contact the church office for more details.
Sue's contemplative stylings at the piano help shape our Saturday 5 PM services into something special. Her worshipful, reflective piano music and unique hymn arrangements are a treat for all who call this service their "home". Sue was a music educator in Racine for 36 years before her retirement. She is a long-time MPLC member and has served as Assistant Organist/Pianist since 1997.
Bell Choir Director
Greg brings our Bell Choir together to offer special music at our 8:30 Sunday service about once a month, rehearsing weekly on Tuesday evenings during the program year. He is a middle school music teacher M-F, and brings his easy-going, highly musical style to his ministry at MPLC. He is also an accomplished trumpet player and shares that gift with the congregation for special services. Greg has been a MPLC member since 2017.
